Prayers Needed.....

Well this week has been a very hard week :( BOTH of my grandfathers have fallen very ill and we can use all the extra prayers we can get. I have been in touch with my parents, and my Aunt Clare on my Mom's side, and my Aunt Amy on my Dad's side have been great about keeping me in the loop as much as they can. I know this time is really hard on everyone.

Here is a little breakdown of what I know(from updates from my family).

My Mom's Dad (Tom Curtis) is currently in the hospital and has fallen very sick. He is not able to see anyone at this time and the doctors have decided not to run any more tests and just make him as comfortable as possible. They are moving him to hospice sometime today. My Aunt Caryn & my Mom are there for the time being- talking to his doctors and hospice care. Please keep my Grandfather in your thoughts. I just hope he is not in pain and the doctors are doing everything they can for him. UPDATE 12:33pm: Papa is now in hospice care, and made the trip okay. PLEASE say an extra prayer for my Mom. She is not doing well - and is understandably extremely upset.

My Dad'd Dad (Frank Martell) is at home currently in Savannah w/ my Grandma, his dog Minnie & my Uncles Brad & Chris. Chris flew in last night - and I think Brad is leaving today after being there most of the week. My Pop-Pop has an aortic aneurysm that has grown, and they are not able to perform surgery at this time due to his health. He also has a large tumor between his ribs & his lung which is causing him a lot of pain. My Dad said the doctor told them that it is cancerous :( He is scheduled for an endoscopy next Wednesday and we should know more info then. I know he is on morphine, but the medicine makes him sick - so he doesn't really eat. UPDATE 12:33pm: A nurse came to the house and gave Pop-Pop an IV, and my Aunt Amy said he is looking & feeling better after receiving the fluids. It was so nice to get some good news for a change.

I am pretty broken up about all this. All I can do is pray and be there for my parents. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Addy Shea is a BUSY LADY

Here are some picture of Addison over the weekend. She is growing like a WEED!! Lately she has been talking up a storm and my ONLY complaint is she is WIDE awake pretty much everyday by 5:30am. Its driving Erik and I nuts! We have tried to take her morning nap away, put her down for bed early, put her down for bed late - and honestly she is just ready to get up at 5:30am (much to my dismay). Our pediatrician said she is getting plenty of sleep and some kids are just "early risers" GGGREEEAATT.....

Here she is body surfing in the entry way. She is pretty much non-stop from the minute she wakes up until she goes to sleep. I can also say with 95% certainty she was listening to Backstreet Boys here. She LOVES the Backstreet boys and requests them daily.

Eating some bananas on Sunday morning. Erik asked her to smile if she loves bananas :)

Look how old she looks in this picture! Those jeans make her look like she is 4 years old!

Addison loves to wear sunglasses and will wear them for a good period of time until she decides one of the dogs need to try them on - then she tries to trap Barrett or Wrigley and force them to wear the sunglasses.

She was eating a Nutragrain bar - which is her favorite snack of choice these days. Her face is a mess - but I thought this picture was too funny not to post.
Some of Addison likes @ almost 20 months:
1. Barrett (they are BEST buddies)
2. Fruit
3. Her babies (all 200 of them)
4. Dora & Diego
5. Milk - I am lucky that my kid LOVES Milk.
Her dislikes:
1. Driving in the car (she is not a fan of being strapped into her car seat)
2. When we take her paci away
3. When Dad turns the tv to Basketball (I agree with her 100% on this one)
4. When we don't let her pull out all her toys and throw them around the house
5. Honestly I cannot come up with #5... that has to be a good thing ;)

Sarah's Bridal Shower

One of my BFF's Sarah is getting married on March 28 - and Mary threw her a wonderful Bridal shower this weekend. I had a blast - my friends are so great!!

Sarah Beth and little Miss Tierney (who is almost 4 months old - and ADORABLE) She makes me have SUPER baby fever...good thing Avery will be here in a couple months!
Sarah opening her gifts. NOTE: DO NOT GO TO PAPYRUS for your gift wrapping needs. They lie to you about gift wrapping costs -and $20 later you want to punch them in the face.

Mary sporting the very crafty wedding cake box Annie made for Sarah as a hat.

Sarah reading a card from her Mom. It was AWESOME to see Susan Dolan (AKA Sarah's Mom)She is a fantastic-funny lady!

One of the group shot out-takes sans Annie (who left before we could get her in the picture) You can see baby Avery - that is why I posted this picture. Plus Erin looks like she loves me (or she is posing for Mary ;)

We were all laughing b/c we decided to cram ourselves into this one corner by Mary's drapes and pose for this shot. I honestly don't think I laughed so hard in months. Could have been all the sugar - could have been that my friends are totally hilarious.. not sure :)

More bad news about my Mom's Dad.....

Well I just found out my Mom flew to Jacksonville, FL this morning b/c her father has taken a turn for the worst. She will give me more details as she knows them - but they are having a hard time draining fluid in his chest & around his heart. So in the matter of 2.5 hours I found out both my grandfathers are really sick. PLEASE say a prayer for them & keep them in your thoughts. My Mom, my Aunt Caryn & Uncle Tim have a meeting with the doctors & Hospice care this afternoon.

I still don't have an update on my Pop-Pop (Dad's Dad). I called and left my Grandma a message and just hope to hear from them soon.

:(

WOOHOO I passed the 3 hour test!

I am playing catch-up at work so I will need to make this post quick.. but I will post pictures of Addison later when I have time.

I had my 3 hour glucose test yesterday and I found out today at my doc appt that I passed :) Here were my scores (if anyone cares):

Fasting:84
1 hour: 120
2 hour: 104
3 hour: 102

My BP is 110/70 and I am up 1lb. I feel pretty good and Avery is moving all over. I am measuring 3 weeks ahead so they scheduled me for an ultrasound at my next appt in 2 weeks to make sure she isn't going to be a land giant.

On a final note: I just heard from my Dad - please keep my grandfather in your thoughts and prayers. My Pop-Pop has taken a bad turn and my Uncles Chris & Brad are on the way out to Savannah right now to see him & my Grandma. I will update when I know more - he is a really good man, and I am very sad that he isn't doing well. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I will post some pictures of Sarah's Bridal Shower & some of Miss Addison later on today when I have more time.

I failed the 1 hour glucose test :(

I am SO bummed. Now I have to go back for the 3 hour test next Monday. I realize there are worse things out there - but having my blood drawn 4 times in 3 hours sound horrible :(

Passing score is 135, and I got a 143. I don't want the doctor to tell me I cannot eat anymore cereal (which is what a co-worker just told me they would limit). Darn horrible fruit punch glucose test!

Happy Wednesday!!

These were taken before daycare today. HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

Peppa Pig

There is a little cartoon on Noggin called "Peppa Pig" and Addison will now make pig noises when she hears it ;) Erik and I think its hilarious and I caught it on camera last night before she went to sleep.

28w Doc appt & Update

I had my 28 week doc appt today w/ the fun glucose test. That drink is so barfy!! They tried to tell me the "fruit punch" flavor is actually pretty good, and honestly I think it was worse then the "orange" one I had to drink when I was pregnant with Addison. Luckily I managed to keep it down long enough for them to draw the blood they needed too. My blood pressure was 116/70, I am up 3lbs. Baby's HB was 148 bpm and everything things to be right on track. I start 2 week appts now, and I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by!

Addison is growing up SO fast. She turned 19 months on Monday. It seems like she says something new everyday, and understands more than Erik and I give her credit for. She starting putting 2 words together and can say about 15 animal sounds, and knows all her facial features as well as arms, hands, legs & feet. She is also a fabulous dancer (obviously takes after her Mom ;) ) She loves watching Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go & reading her books (mainly the ones staring Dora & Diego). She is still going to Kindred Hearts Christian Day Care and loving it. THANKFULLY Kim agreed to take Avery as well as Addison in late July, and I am beyond grateful! Kim is a wonderful lady, and Addison really likes her and her family. She has an almost 3 year old son named Harrison, and Addy asks about "Harry" all the time :)

Lately she has been teething, and Erik and I have been up most nights with her. I feel so bad, since she is such a late teether - you can tell she has about 3 teeth ready to POP and she is miserable. ESPECIALLY at night. We have tried everything from Motrin, to the teething tablets, to baby orajel, cold washcloths & pacifiers. Last night she was up for 3 hours so upset, Erik ended up putting her in bed with us, and the little lady snuggled right in and fell sound asleep. I guess she just needed to be with her parents. Lets hope this doesn't become a routine for her.

Here are some pictures from this weekend. Eating lunch on Saturday. I think she looks SO grown up here.

Trying to "kiss" Barrett (Don't worry we didn't let her lick him)

Reading to her dog brothers (Barrett & Roo are in the background, but kind of hard to see.

Addison's new SMILE for the camera.

Singing with her Dad

Just chillin' in her jammies.Showing Dad where his nose is.

Here is a picture of Erik when he was in Rockford to see Riley. Carla didn't send a disk - so I had to take a picture of a picture just to get something on the blog of Erik holding his niece. Carla & Cletus are doing well, and Riley is growing like a weed! I hope we can get all the girls together soon!!

I forgot to mention Dana is coming out for Avery's birth!! WOOHOO. We are both really excited and Erik is so happy to have his Mom come into town. She will hold down the fort while I am in the hospital for a few days. Dana HATES to travel, so its a big deal for her to come out here. The end of April will be here before we know it!
