And the results are in...

I passed the gestational diabetes test!! WOOHOO! They said the cut off was 135 and I scored a 119. I am very happy. When I didn't hear from them yesterday I was relieved, but I couldn't just assume - so I called in to check. So that is good news! I also found out my blood type is O+, which I never knew.

On the not so good news front I had to go to urgent care this morning and have an upper respiratory infection. So basically I feel like crap :( I couldn't breathe all last night and honestly thought I was allergic to something. It hit me really fast and now I guess I just tough it out. I have decided some thera-flu & a new episode of Grey's Anatomy might just do the trick and make me feel better.

28 week appt

Had my 28 week appt yesterday. Overall it went well! I had to drink the orange glucose tolerance test drink (which honestly tastes like a melted orange otter pop) and then they take your blood about an hour later. The drink is pretty gross and I am really hoping I passed so I don't have to drink that stuff again! No news is good news - so I am just hoping I DO NOT hear from my doctor's office in the next 24-48 hours.

My blood pressure was the BEST it has ever been!! 126/82 which is a little high from the 120/80 recommendation - but honestly that number is EXCELLENT for me. So I was really happy about that!

Weight gain was still in normal range -but I gained the most from the last appt to this one. :( Now that it is getting nice outside I just need to make sure I am walking more. Erik and I took all 3 of the dogs on a walk last week, and it was pretty funny. We must have looked like a circus trying to get all 3 dogs to walk together and stay on the sidewalk. So I might take them out one at a time if Erik cannot walk with me. Otherwise I think it would be a nightmare!

Little Miss Addison is still really low and head down. This leads me to believe she is pushing on my bladder with her hands or just likes to give it a quick punch from time to time. I thought for sure she must have flipped do to all the low movement - but she must have a pretty strong upper body already :) She weighs 2.7lbs and is in the 45.3 percentile for growth. Dr. Vargas said that 45% equates to about a 7lb baby at full term delivery. We will see :)

The ultrasound tech tried to get me some good pictures of her - but it is getting hard to determine what is what (at least from my perspective). Addison had a leg stretched out and we got a pretty cute picture of her foot. She looks to have pretty long legs already. Of course she was being a little stinker and we couldn't get a good picture of her face. She was sucking on two of her fingers and had her other hand over her face. We even tried to get her to move her hands and she ended up flipping upside down (face down) so I got a picture of her spine instead of her face. I am really hoping she decides to cooperate for the 3D/4D ultrasound on May 19 so we can see what our little lady looks like. The only other picture I walked away with yesterday was a "gender shot" with "YEP.......STILL ALL GIRL" typed across the top of it :)

I am still sleeping pretty well through the night. I am starting to get uncomfortable and wake up a bunch of times, but I can fall back to sleep fairly quickly. All the dogs feel they need to cuddle up next to me at night - which is cute, but they are little heat condensers and I wake up SO HOT. I usually try to make them curl up next to Erik since he doesn't mind having the fur babies lay all over him. Sure enough an hour later they are all pressed up against me again - so it is an on going adventure.

I saw my baby shower invites this weekend and they are AWESOME! I can honestly say if I had a million to chose from I would have picked those! My friends designed them and put them together this weekend and they are amazingly cute! I am so thankful that I have such wonderful friends. :) The shower is set for June 3 and I cannot believe how fast that is coming up.

My next doc appt is in 2 weeks, then I start weekly appts until she is here! I will update once I get the glucose results.... keep your fingers crossed for me.

Primrose School

http://www.primroseschools.com/Schools/Highlights/Main.aspx?schoolID=44

Well as of yesterday I officially signed Addison up for daycare at Primrose. According to the BBB it was rated one of the best in Metro-Denver which eases the pain of having to put her in day care in the first place. (Which honestly breaks my heart) The center is really clean & nice and all the teachers & staff seem wonderful. I have been back 3 times and Erik and I finally decided to get on the wait list & register her. She will start sometime in October. They also have a great before/after school program if we were ever to need it once she is older. Primrose is really pricey, but honestly Erik and I are just going to make it work - we have to. I looked into private in-home care, but I cannot imagine dropping her off to someone I don't know and having to worry about references and background checks.

So overall - I feel good about this. She will be well taken care of and they have a lot to offer.

I also had to stop into the doc yesterday because of some major headaches & dizziness I have been experiencing. They told me to call in if I ever felt faint or had a headache that wouldn't go away. So I called and they had me come in. They checked my BP (which was a little high, but what my doctor called "where my BP likes to hang out". They also checked Addison heart rate w/ the Doppler and the doctor said she sounded perfect (thank goodness). I have my Glucose tolerance test next Tuesday along with a non-stress test & ultrasound. Hopefully I will have all good news to report.

I am now a few days into my 3rd trimester and it is amazing how fast time is flying. I cannot believe we will have her in our arms in less than 3 months!! Erik is so excited for her arrival and we are so blessed that all indicators are that she is healthy and growing right on track. I am so thrilled to be having a little girl!

And the bunny delivered!

YAHOO!!! I got that Ju Ju Be diaper bag for Addison!! Erik bought it for me yesterday along w/ Dinner to make up for the Easter debacle. I love her new diaper bag! Its so cute, and spacious and I really like it can also be worn as a back pack or an over the shoulder bag. Erik even said he is A-ok w/ carrying around a dark pink diaper bag (as long as he has Addison w/ him). So I just had to happily report that she now has one of the cutest diaper bags in the world!!

In a few short days I will be in my 3rd trimester and time has really been flying by! I feel pretty good and she has been moving around a lot this week. We plan on doing a 3D/4D ultrasound around 30-32 weeks to get a better picture of what she looks like!! I cannot wait! If I can post the pictures on here I will.

Cute, Cute, CUTE!!!

Check out this diaper bag! I saw it this past weekend w/ the girls when we were at Nordstrom so I could exchange a pair of Robeez (shoes) for Addison. I am in LOVE with it! Might be the cutest diaper bag I have ever seen. I have never heard of the brand - but I love that material. I also like that it can be a backpack, or it has a shoulder strap as well. My Easter was pretty sucky - due to a couple events. Maybe "the bunny" aka Erik might get this for me as a belated Happy Easter gift. ;) HINT..........HINT................HINT.

A banner we saw in Chicago......

Erik has already has already bought Addison a few cubbie outfits and plans on taking her to Wrigley Field the second she is old enough to stay awake for more than 30 minutes at a time. ;) This kid won't have a chance to be anything but a Chicago sports fan w/ a Daddy like Erik. Maybe Addison will be the Cubs lucky charm this year and they will actually make it to the World Series.... we shall see ;)

Possible "Going Home Outfit"

I got this at Old Navy.. and I am thinking of making this Addison's coming home outfit from the hospital. I was thinking about putting her in one of her many cute dresses - but I think something soft & comfy *might* be the way to go ;) Those are little tiny zebra's all over it - if you cannot tell.
Hard to believe I am almost 26 weeks. The little lady will be here in NO time ;)
